Bitlis Eren University (BEU) is a public research university located in the city of Bitlis in eastern Turkey. Founded in 2007, BEU is one of the newer universities in the country and has quickly gained a reputation for its research activities, academic programs, and student life. The university is named after the 13th-century Turkish mystic and poet, Eren Hatun, who is buried in Bitlis. The university’s main campus is located in the city center, while its other campuses are in Tatvan and Ahlat districts of Bitlis.
The university is one of the largest employers in the region and has a significant impact on the local economy. BEU offers a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programs in various fields of study. These include faculties of engineering, arts and sciences, economics and administrative sciences, education, and theology. The university also has vocational schools that offer associate degree programs in areas such as health services, applied sciences, and technical fields.

These include the Bitlis Eren University Kurdish Studies Research and Application Center, the Bitlis Eren University Social Sciences Research and Application Center, and the Bitlis Eren University Energy Research and Application Center, among others. The university has a diverse student body of over 10,000 students from different parts of Turkey and around the world.
